Isak Barow Isak

Isak Barow Isak currently serves as an Operations Senior Officer in Weapons & Ammunition Management at the United Nations Mine Action Service since July 2021. Prior to this role, Isak held positions as a Transition Advisor at the Ministry of Internal Security, Founder of the Horn of Africa Institute for Peace and Security, and Deputy Minister of Internal Security for the South West State of Somalia. Additional experience includes serving as a Senior Liaison Officer and Security Analyst in the same ministry, as well as a Senior National Professional Officer at the United Nations Mine Action Service and a District Polio Officer with the World Health Organization. Isak holds a Master's degree in Conflict Peace and Security from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, a Master's in Security Studies from London Metropolitan University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Terrorism Studies from the University of St Andrews, and a Diploma in Food and Nutrition from the Institute of Relief & Development.
