Hunar Hassan

Hunar Hassan is a seasoned humanitarian professional with extensive experience in program management and coordination. Currently serving as the National Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the United Nations OCHA since October 2016, Hunar monitors and analyzes humanitarian developments in the Ninewa sub-office, providing critical information for sitreps and reports. Previously, as a Senior Program Officer at the International Rescue Committee from November 2015 to October 2016, Hunar supervised staff to enhance education for refugee children in Erbil. In earlier roles, Hunar served as General Coordinator at Peoples Development Association PDA, overseeing organizational strategy and operations, and as Culture Development Desk Manager at Norwegian People's Aid, managing development programs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Academically, Hunar holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from The University of Manchester and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Salahaddin University in Iraq.
