Gladys Muthoni Mwangi has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations. Gladys Muthoni began their career at Ufanisi Sacco in 2006, where they worked as an Assistant Accountant until 2012. In 2013, they joined Rwathia Distributors as the Head of Store for a brief period before transitioning to UN-Habitat. At UN-Habitat, they held roles as a Finance/Oversight professional from their start date until September 2015. From September 2015 until August 2019, they served as a Programme Assistant. Most recently, in 2019, they joined the United Nations Office at Nairobi, where they are currently working in a Finance and Budget role.

Gladys Muthoni Mwangi pursued higher education starting in 2005 at the Kenya College of Accountancy, where they obtained a CPA I certification in Accounting between 2005 and 2008. In 2011, they enrolled at Kenya Methodist University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Finance, which they successfully completed in 2013. Finally, from 2015 to 2017, they attended the United States International University - Africa, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance.
