Ignacio Vázquez Vélez

Ignacio Vázquez Vélez is a Geographic Information Systems Consultant at the United Nations, working since December 2021 within the Data and Visualization Unit, specifically under the Client Solution Delivery Section for Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies. Prior to this role, Ignacio served as the Head of the Technical Presales department at Esri Spain from June 2006 to December 2021, where responsibilities included strategizing for the department and providing technical advice to the sales team. Ignacio's career began at Geomytsa as a Technician involved in data processing and technical support for oceanographic campaigns from November 2003 to June 2005. Ignacio holds a Master’s degree in GIS Project Management from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a Master’s degree in Climatic Hazards and Environmental Impact from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science from Universidade de Vigo.
