Matheus Marlisson

Matheus Marlisson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international development, sustainability, and urban governance. Currently serving as Chief Operations Officer at Yakara’na since May 2024, Matheus focuses on climate education and empowering decision-makers to confront the climate crisis. In addition to this role, Matheus is an International Development Consultant with the United Nations, contributing expertise to sustainable development projects. Previous positions include Research Associate at Columbia | SIPA, Finance Track Advisor for the G20 Presidency at the Ministério da Fazenda, and Chief of Staff for the Brazil Climate Summit, among others. Matheus holds a Master of Arts in Global Affairs and Diplomacy from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science from Centre College, and various certifications in international relations, crisis management, and disaster preparedness.
