Nancy El Hajj currently serves as Assistant Chief and Officer In Charge for the Crisis Management and Strategic Planning Unit at the United Nations since June 2023. Previously, Nancy held the title of Associate Security Officer - Assistant Chief with the United Nations Office at Vienna, overseeing multiple teams within the Security and Safety Service and actively engaging in crisis response and security risk management. With experience as a Field Officer at Chemonics International, a Research Assistant for various projects, and internships with the United Nations and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nancy has developed a strong background in research, analysis, and strategic planning in security and humanitarian contexts. Nancy holds a Master's degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Middle Eastern Security Studies from Penn State University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/International Affairs from the Lebanese American University.
