Sampa Kangwa-Wilkie

Sampa Kangwa-Wilkie is an accomplished communications expert with extensive experience in humanitarian and development sectors. Currently serving as the Deputy Head of Digital & Outreach Communications at the United Nations since April 2017, Sampa leads complex communication strategies amidst significant political and humanitarian crises. Prior experience includes a role as the Regional Communications Officer for Southern Africa at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, where Sampa developed innovative platforms and content to promote the African development agenda. Sampa also played a vital role at the Media Institute of Southern Africa, managing advocacy campaigns across 11 countries and spearheading a pan-African campaign that led to significant policy developments. In earlier years, Sampa worked as an Art Director at Groundwork Productions, co-directing an award-winning documentary and pioneering theatre-based reproductive health campaigns in Zambia. Sampa holds a Master's degree in Mass Communication from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Media Studies from the University of Namibia.
