Alina Martinez is an Associate Biostatistician at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) since September 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Supplemental Instruction Leader at the University of the District of Columbia, where sessions were conducted to enhance the success of Intermediate Algebra and Calculus I students. Alina completed an undergraduate research fellowship at Maryland Sea Grant, focusing on anticyclonic eddies and salinity influences in the Mid-Atlantic Bight, utilizing MATLAB for data analysis. As an AmeriCorps VISTA with Habitat for Humanity International, Alina played a key role in expanding the Veterans Build coalition from 74 to 146 affiliates. Additionally, Alina contributed as a Chapter Liaison for Student Veterans of America, enhancing organizational visibility through data management and outreach. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Statistics from Stony Brook University, a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Law from Binghamton University, and a Post-Baccalaureate in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of the District of Columbia.
