Acting Director, Peace Processes at United States Institute of Peace

Sasha Pippenger is an accomplished professional in peace processes, negotiation, and political affairs, currently serving as the Acting Director of Peace Processes and Senior Expert in Negotiation & Ceasefires at the United States Institute of Peace since November 2022. Previous experience includes roles as Special Assistant to the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Political Affairs Officer, and Special Assistant to the Deputy Special Representative at the United Nations. Additional positions held include Adviser in Mediation & Legal Analysis at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, researcher at Harvard Law School's Program on International Law and Armed Conflict, and various consultancy roles related to post-conflict constitution-building and national dialogue. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
