Akeen Lowell Hamilton, PhD, is a seasoned professional in health promotion and research, currently serving as Senior Manager for Research & Community Engagement at United States of Care since April 2022. Prior to this role, Akeen held various positions including Health Program Supervisor at Mecklenburg County and Project Manager at the University of South Carolina. Akeen's experience also encompasses roles such as Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant and Dreams Project Intern for PEPFAR, along with HIV outreach work in the Peace Corps and serving as a Public Health Specialist for the City of Wauwatosa. Akeen holds a PhD in Health Promotion, Education, & Behavior from the University of South Carolina, an MBA from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, an MA in Public Health Education and Promotion from East Carolina University, and a BS in Rehabilitation Science from East Carolina University.
