Dave Violand has a comprehensive and varied work experience in intelligence and military roles. Their most recent position was as the Director of the Office of Current and Strategic Intelligence at the United States Southern Command. Prior to that, they served as the Commander of the 525 Expeditionary MI Brigade, leading over 900 soldiers in intelligence collection and analysis. Dave also held the position of Deputy Director for Intelligence at the Joint Force Headquarters - DoD Information Networks. Dave Violand has a strong educational background, having attended the National War College as a student. Dave Violand received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and History from the University of Notre Dame in the years 1994 to 1998. Dave then pursued a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies at the U.S. Naval War College from 2010 to 2011. Later, in 2018 to 2019, they enrolled at the National War College where they completed a Masters of Science degree in National Security Strategy.
