Mary Rachel Trautwein

Mary Rachel Trautwein is a seasoned military professional currently serving as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Space Force since August 2021. Prior to this role, Mary Trautwein was the Deputy Director of the Acquisition Division for the Cloud Computing Program Office at the United States Department of Defense from October 2018 to August 2021. Mary Trautwein's earlier career includes extensive experience with the United States Air Force, where responsibilities spanned from engineering to leadership roles, including managing a $70 million contract for satellite command and control systems. With educational credentials including a Master’s degree in Military Operational Art and Science from the USAF Air Command and Staff College and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Mary Trautwein has made significant contributions to space education and operational excellence within the Department of Defense.
