Russ Hunter is a Space Operations Officer at the United States Space Force since February 2024. Previously served as a Research Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, focusing on climate modeling data related to heatwaves and flash droughts. Held leadership roles in the Duke Air Force ROTC, including Cadet Wing Commander, and completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Earth and Climate Science at Duke University. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Space Resources at the Colorado School of Mines. Additional experiences include undergraduate research at Duke's Shindell Climate Lab and outdoor leadership roles in recreational activities.
