Rosa Muchovej

Chief Soils Scientist at United States Sugar

Rosa Muchovej has a background in soil science and has held various roles throughout their career. Rosa started their career as a Professor at Universidade Federal de Vicosa in 1984 and held this position until 1993. Rosa then worked as a University of Florida researcher at RCREC from 1993 to 1995. Following this, Muchovej joined SWFREC as a University of Florida researcher in 1995 and remained in this role until 2009. Rosa is currently employed at U.S. Sugar as the Chief Soils Scientist, a position they have held since September 2009.

Rosa Muchovej holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Soil and Plant Sciences from Virginia Tech, which they obtained from 1980 to 1983. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Soils and Plant Nutrition from Universidade Federal de Vicosa, completing their studies from 1978 to 1980. In 1976, Rosa obtained their Bachelor's degree in Soil Science and Agronomy, with a specialization in the general field of study, from Purdue University, which they attended from 1973 to 1976.
