Emma Burd

Emma Burd currently serves as Assistant Deputy Counsel at the United States Tax Court since December 2022. Previously, Emma held the position of Attorney at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel from September 2022 to December 2022, and served as Judicial Law Clerk at the United States Tax Court from October 2020 to September 2022. Prior experiences include roles as a Research Assistant at the University of Virginia School of Law, a Summer Intern at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, and a Judicial Intern at Alexandria General District Court. Emma Burd earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Virginia School of Law (2017-2020) and a Bachelor's Degree in Classics from Carleton College (2011-2015).
