Maria Sol Freire

Maria Sol Freire has a diverse work experience across various industries. Maria Sol started their career at BBDO Ecuador as a Free Lance in 2008. Maria Sol then worked as a Food Host at Cedar Point Amusement Park in 2010, where they developed strong customer service and communication skills. Maria then transitioned to Panatlantic Logistics in the same year, where they served as an Internal Communications Consultant, overseeing internal communication campaigns and measuring their effectiveness.

In 2011, Maria joined Madeval as a Marketing and Communications Coordinator, acting as a single point of contact for customers and implementing communication strategies. Maria Sol then moved on to Mount Royal University in 2013, working in customer service at the library. Maria provided research assistance, developed external communication strategies, and managed media equipment reservations.

From 2013 to 2015, Maria worked at SEPHORA as a Sales and Customer Service / Makeup Artist, utilizing their sales and customer service skills. In 2014, they joined Immigrant Services Calgary as a Communications Coordinator, where they handled communication tasks for the organization.

Currently, Maria is employed at the United Way of Calgary and Area since 2017. Maria Sol has held multiple roles within the organization, including Marketing Officer, Marketing Specialist, and currently, Brand Marketing Lead.

During the same period, they pursued a minor in Psychology at the same institution. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including Security Awareness from KnowBe4, Inc. in 2016, De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations from Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute Inc. (CTRI) in 2015, and International Certified Tutor Level I from College Reading and Learning Association / Mount Royal University in 2013. Moreover, they also completed the Standard First AID CPR/AED Level C certification from Canadian Red Cross in September 2012.
