Cortney D.

Cortney D. has a diverse work experience that spans several organizations and roles. Cortney currently serves as the Director of Community Impact - Education at United Way of Dane County starting from August 2020. Cortney is also a Board Member at the Wisconsin Michigan State University Alumni Club since August 2020. Cortney was previously a Board Member at FoodRight, Inc. from September 2019.

In addition to their board roles, Cortney has also held various positions in the public sector. Cortney worked as a Special Project Manager at Democrat's from March 2020 to September 2020. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Fellow at the City of Milwaukee from August 2017 to February 2020.

Cortney's earlier experiences include roles in the education sector. Cortney worked as a TRIO and Pre-College Mini Courses Tour Guide at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from August 2017 to June 2019. During their time there, they also served as a Student Advisory Board Member for UWM Food Pantry and Center from January 2018 to August 2018.

Before their time at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Cortney had a significant tenure at City Year, where they worked as a Manager & Director from June 2015 to August 2017, a Team Leader from July 2014 to June 2015, and a Corps Member from August 2013 to June 2014.

Cortney's earliest work experiences include being a Research Assistant at the Michigan State University Center for Community and Economic Development from October 2012 to August 2013 and a Resident Assistant/Leasing Agent at American Campus Communities - Abbott Place Apartments from May 2012 to April 2013.

Cortney D. obtained a Bachelor's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Michigan State University in the years 2008 to 2013. Furthermore, Cortney D. also pursued a Master of Science degree in Urban Studies/Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 2017 and 2019.
