Khalil Salim, Ph.D. has extensive experience in research and evaluation roles. Khalil is currently the Director of Research and Evaluation at United Way of Central Carolinas. Prior to this, they worked at UNC Charlotte Urban Institute as a Co-Investigator and Project Manager, where they led the design and implementation of evaluations for various organizations and agencies. Khalil also worked as an Evaluation Consultant at Life Connections of the Carolinas and MeckEd. Additionally, they have experience as a Research Associate at the Community Psychology Research Lab and Council for Children's Rights. Khalil's earlier experience includes a role as a Research Associate at THOMPSON Child & Family Focus, where they were responsible for evaluation, reporting, and data management. Khalil also worked as a Community Planning & Evaluation Consultant at Renaissance West Community Initiative.

Khalil Salim, Ph.D. obtained their highest level of education, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), in Community & Health Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Khalil pursued this degree from 2017 to 2021. Prior to their doctoral studies, Khalil completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Community Psychology at the same university, which they finished in 2019. Additionally, they earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte during the period of 2015 to 2016.
