Frank Cardella

Director, Research & Evaluation at United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg

Frank Cardella has over 20 years of experience in education and community impact roles, currently serving as the Director of Research and Evaluation at United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg since May 2018. In this position, Frank leads the development of data materials to inform evidence-based strategies for community improvement and has a strong focus on creating trauma-sensitive and culturally respectful initiatives. Previously, Frank held various leadership positions, including Director of Community Impact and AFL-CIO Community Services Liaison, wherein efforts were directed toward enhancing youth programs and supporting organized labor. Frank has also contributed to non-profit organizations, such as Chesterfield Children's Theatre, and has significant experience in public education, having taught chemistry and biology for nearly two decades while advocating for teacher and student needs through leadership roles in education associations and PTAs. Frank holds degrees from Binghamton University and SUNY Brockport, alongside a Master's in Environmental Education Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
