Joy Sebe has a diverse work experience background. Joy began their career at the University of California, San Francisco as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2012. Joy then joined the University of Washington as a Research Scientist and Lecturer from 2012 to 2018. In 2018, they transitioned to Open Doors For Multicultural Families, where they held various roles including Assistant Director, Advocacy and Civic Engagement Program Lead, and Advocacy and Civic Engagement Program Manager. During their time there, they also served as the Director of the Community Parent Resource Center, overseeing services and training for diverse families navigating the special education system. Most recently, in 2023, they joined United Way of King County as the Associate Director of Education Strategies.
Joy Sebe completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at Occidental College. Joy then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of Washington. The specific start and end years for these educational experiences are not provided.
