Chris Preston has over 25 years of experience in various roles within the United Way organization. Chris currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at United Way of Metro Chicago since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President Corporate Relations at United Way Worldwide from March 2017 to May 2022. Chris has also served as Vice President, Resource Development at United Way of the National Capital Area from November 2014 to April 2016, and as Senior Vice President, Strategic and Regional Management at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey from October 2013 to November 2014. Before joining these regional United Way organizations, Chris worked as the Director, Corporate Relations at United Way Worldwide from August 2008 to September 2013. Chris started their career in the United Way Store as the National Sales Manager from May 2002 to August 2008. Prior to their involvement with the United Way, Chris worked as a Senior Account Representative at CAIS Internet from August 1999 to October 2001 and as an Assistant Branch Manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car from June 1996 to July 1999. Chris brings a wealth of experience in development, corporate relations, resource development, strategic management, and sales to their current role as Chief Development Officer.

Chris Preston earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Management from George Mason University. Chris studied at the university from 1992 to 1996. Additionally, they pursued their B.S. degree in Management from the George Mason University - School of Business during the same period.
