Tanisha McKnight

Tanisha McKnight currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at United Way of New York City, a position held since March 2023. Prior to this role, Tanisha was the Assistant Deputy General Counsel at The State University of New York from September 2021 to March 2023. Tanisha's extensive experience in legal and organizational leadership includes serving as the Deputy Director and Director of Paralegal & Volunteer Services at The Children's Law Center from January 2009 to September 2021, as well as working as a Staff Attorney at The Legal Aid Society of NYC from September 2004 to December 2008. Tanisha holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, earned in 2004, with a focus on Family and Criminal Law, and Development and Program Management, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women's Studies from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, obtained in 2000.
