Laurie George Ph.d., Cfre

Laurie George, Ph.D., CFRE has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Laurie began their career at the United Way of Palm Beach County in 1998, holding the position of Executive Vice President/ VP Community Impact/ Dir. Agency Relations until 2006. Laurie then joined the YMCA of Greater Charlotte as the Association Director of Quality in 2006. In 2007, they became the Associate Director at the Institute for Social Capital at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Laurie returned to the United Way of Palm Beach County in 2008, serving as the Chief Operating Officer until 2013 when they were promoted to President & CEO.

Laurie George, Ph.D., CFRE has an extensive education history. Laurie obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from Texas A&M University, graduating between 1987 and 1991. Following that, they pursued further studies at The University of Texas at Austin, where they earned their Ph.D. in Child Development & Family Relationships between 1992 and 1998. In addition to their academic accomplishments, Laurie George has also obtained the CFRE Certification from CFRE International in June 2022.
