Denise Thomas has a diverse work experience with different organizations. Denise started their career as an Americorps Vista at Arizona State University from December 2005 to January 2007. Later, they worked as a Project Manager at The University of Akron from September 2007 to May 2011. Currently, they are employed at United Way of Summit & Medina, where they initially held the position of a 2-1-1 Specialist from February 2018 to January 2020. Since January 2020, they have been serving as the Director of Community Health.
Denise Thomas completed their education history with a Master of Social Work degree from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at CWRU, where they studied from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Kent State University, where they attended from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their academic achievements, Denise has also obtained certifications in Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistance from the Chemical Dependency Professionals Board of Ohio in January 2021, and as a Certified Community Resource Specialist from the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems in March 2019.
