Barbara Bates-Nelson

Barbara Bates-Nelson currently serves as the Executive Director of Northern Ozaukee for United Way of America, a role held since January 2011, contributing to community improvement efforts. With experience as an Independent Distributor and Entrepreneur at SendOutCards since January 2009, Barbara focuses on blending advanced technology with personal relationship building. Active membership in the not-for-profit organization Focus provides networking and educational support to women in business. Prior accomplishments include serving as President of Focus Women's Organization from 2005 to 2012 and as a Board Member for United Way of Northern Ozaukee County from 2009 to 2010. Barbara's earlier career includes positions as Office Manager at Stony Hill Management Inc., Benefit Consultant at A.N. Ansay & Associates, and Sales Director at STRATTEC Security Corporation. Barbara holds a Master's degree in Communication from Wayne State University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Grand Valley State University.
