Heather Black has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Heather started their career as the Director of Program Development at CTIA Wireless Foundation from 1999 to 2004. Heather then worked as the Director of Public-Private Partnerships at the Family Violence Prevention Fund from 2005 to 2006, where they cultivated relationships with corporate partners and managed consumer-based campaigns and events. From 2007 to 2015, Heather served as the Director of Charitable Solicitations Licensing at the NC Department of the Secretary of State, overseeing the licensing and registration process for charitable organizations. In 2012, they founded Fleur Decor, an artistic business that enhances everyday items, and served as the Founder until 2023. From 2015 to 2022, Heather worked at United Way of North Carolina, first as the NC 211 State Director, managing the information and referral system, and then as the Vice President. Currently, Heather is the Vice President of 211 System Strategy at United Way.
Heather Black obtained a Certificate in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Duke University in the year 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, from Meredith College between the years 1994 and 1997.
