Michele Alexander Magruder

Michele Alexander Magruder serves as the Social Media Director for United Way since May 2023. Previously, from August 2017 to May 2023, Michele held the position of Senior Digital Strategist at Burness, where responsibilities included amplifying public health communications and managing digital campaigns for various clients. Earlier roles involved developing digital strategies at Veracity Media, managing communications at Management Sciences for Health, and undertaking research during a Fulbright fellowship in Ukraine focused on public health issues. Michele holds a Master's degree in Strategic Communication from American University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with minors in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Mary Washington.
