Brenda McGarvey

Brenda McGarvey has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Brenda began their career in the Air Force, where they worked in Aerospace Physiology from 1976 to 1982. Brenda then transitioned to the nonprofit sector and served as the Executive Director at the Murray Family YMCA from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they joined the YMCA of Southwest Illinois as the Executive Director from 2000 to 2005, where they managed daily operations and ran various fitness programs. In 2005, they joined Unity Hospice and held two positions: Corporate Directors of Volunteers from 2005 to 2008 and Corporate Director of Program Development from 2008 onwards.

Brenda McGarvey completed their Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Murray State University between 1989 and 1993. Brenda then pursued higher education and obtained a Masters degree in Human Performance with a specialization in Exercise Science from Murray State University from 1993 to 1995.
