Ray Aspey has over two decades of experience in corporate development and strategic management within the utilities sector. Currently serving as the Corporate Development Manager at Unitywater since May 2013, Ray has played a pivotal role in managerial capacities, including as Manager Strategy and Business Development. Previously, Ray successfully established the Retail and Marketing function at Brisbane Water from July 2002 to October 2011, and created the Retail business at Meridian Energy from April 1999 to June 2002. Early career experiences include positions as Sales and Marketing Manager at London Total Gas and Commercial Manager at London Electricity PLC. Ray's educational background includes studies at London South Bank University and Paragon.

Unitywater provides essential water supply and sewage treatment services to residents and businesses in the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions. Every day Unitywater operates and maintains more than $3.4 billion of essential infrastructure, delivers quality drinking water and treats 60 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of sewage for over 17% of Queensland’s population, spread across 5223 square km. Operations began on 1 July 2010 under the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail) Act 2009, as part of the Queensland Government water reform program. Unitywater is governed by an independent Board of Directors. Unitywater is committed to helping prevent and respond to violence against women and is proud to be a White Ribbon Accredited Workplace.
