Lori Thompson

Lori Thompson, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in human resources. Lori'smost recent position was as Vice President of Human Resources at Universal Alloy Corporation, starting in May 2019. Prior to that, they served as Chief People Officer and Director of Human Resources at Cherokee County from April 2018 to April 2019 and from February 2016 to April 2018, respectively. Before their role at Cherokee County, they worked as a Senior HR Business Partner at MarketSource Inc. from December 2013 to February 2016. Lori also held the position of Regional Director of Human Resources at Gentiva Health Services from September 2011 to December 2013. Additionally, they gained experience as a Manager of Human Resources at CNN/Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. from February 2008 to September 2011 and as a Senior Manager of Human Resources at Global Payments Inc. from February 2007 to February 2008.

Earlier in their career, Lori held multiple roles at ADT Security Services, Inc., including Area Human Resources Manager from December 2004 to February 2007, Regional Senior HR Specialist from July 2003 to December 2004, and Regional HR Specialist from November 2001 to July 2003. Lori began their HR career as a Human Resources Specialist at Nakanishi Manufacturing Corporation from March 1999 to October 2001.

Lori Thompson, SHRM-SCP, obtained their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) with a focus in Human Resources Management from the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business. Lori completed their undergraduate education from 1994 to 1998. In terms of additional certifications, Lori obtained the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in February 2022. In 2013, they also obtained the highest level of Leaf-level Facilitation Certification from Fierce, Inc. In 2010, Lori obtained the Benchmarks 360 certification from the Center for Creative Leadership and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
