Catriona Ayer has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Catriona started their career as a Systems Analyst at Computing Analysis Corporation in 1986 and worked there until 1992. Following that, they joined Tucson Unified School District as a Network Lab Technician, where they maintained computer networks and provided training on internet and software applications. In 1993, they became a Senior Manager at C23/CTE, where they exceeded annual sales goals as an Apple Education Sales Agent. In 1995, they worked at Idaho State Department of Education as an Educational Technology Specialist, where they co-developed the State Education Technology Plan and secured a $4.3M grant for telecommunications upgrades in schools and libraries. Catriona then joined Universal Service Administrative Co. (USAC) in 2002, first as a Senior Director and later promoted to Vice President, Schools and Libraries Division (E-rate). In this role, they oversaw a $4B federal program, managed a large team, and ensured the integrity of the program while working with law enforcement agencies and providing testimony at trials and with Congressional staffs.
Catriona Ayer, CFE completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies, Political Science, and German from Rice University. Catriona then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Additionally, they participated in various executive education programs, such as the Certificate in Leadership & Management, Unlocking Value of AI, Blockchain and Digital Assets Program, Strategic Negotiation Program, and Women in Leadership Program, all offered by UVA Darden Executive Education & Lifelong Learning. Catriona also obtained a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.
