David Cummings has extensive work experience in the IT industry. David started their career in 1993 with Rural/Metro Corporation as a Programmer. David then worked at America West Airlines as a Lead Analyst before joining PetSmart as a Programmer/Analyst. David had various roles at PetSmart, including IT Applications Development Manager. David also worked at WestEx Transportation as a Sr Applications Analyst before returning to PetSmart as an IT Solutions Manager. David then moved to Lowe's as an IT Solutions Manager and later worked as the IT Director at Southeast Christian Church. David returned to Universal Technical Institute as an IT Project Manager and held several positions, including Director of IT Governance and Solutions Delivery, Director of IT Operations, and Director of Software Development. Finally, David served as Vice President of Software Development and Applications Delivery at Universal Technical Institute.

David Cummings attended Northern Virginia Community College from 1988 to 1989, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Computer Information Systems. Prior to that, they attended Johnson University in 1987. David completed their high school education at Chantilly HS. In terms of certifications, David Cummings became a Certified Instructor at the ALICE Training Institute in November 2019 and November 2017.
