Eliane Ushijima

Eliane Ushijima is a seasoned translator and proofreader with extensive experience in English-Portuguese translation. Currently employed at Cambridge University Press & Assessment as an English-Portuguese Translator and Proofreader since August 2021, Eliane focuses on creating content for the Cambridge Learners Dictionary aimed at Brazilian Portuguese speakers. Previous roles include Portuguese Language Proofreader at Oxford University Press, where Eliane worked on a new edition of a Portuguese dictionary, and Coordinator of the English-Portuguese Translation Department at Consist, overseeing translation projects for a Brazilian software company. Additional experience includes freelance translation for various projects, including software localization for Microsoft and coordination with Larousse Publishing. Eliane holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation Studies from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and a specialization in English Language and Literature from USP - Universidade de São Paulo.
