Bernardino Couñago

Bernardino Couñago is a seasoned professional in the field of marine and offshore renewable energy, currently serving as Co-founder and Managing Director at BlueNewables since September 2019, where expertise is focused on supporting the development of offshore renewables. Bernardino also contributes as a Visiting Lecturer at multiple institutions, including Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Instituto Marítimo Español, and Escuela de Organización Industrial, sharing extensive knowledge on Offshore Wind, Offshore Solar, Green Hydrogen Production, and Marine Renewable Energy. Previous experience includes noteworthy roles as Principal Naval Architect and Project Manager at ESTEYCO, and significant positions at GMC Limited, Iberdrola Engineering and Construction, Tecnalia Research & Innovation, and ASTANDER. Bernardino holds a Master of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and has pursued further education in offshore oil and gas engineering.
