Alain Casanovas has an extensive work experience in the field of compliance. Alain started their career in 1988 as the responsible partner for Compliance services at KPMG España. In 2013, they became the Director of the KPMG Compliance Think Tank.

In addition to their work at KPMG, Casanovas has held various roles in academia. Since 2014, they have been the Director and Professor of the Postgraduate Compliance Program at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the Postgraduate Compliance Program (open) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra - UPF. In 2019, they joined CaixaBank as the Director and Professor of the Postgraduate Compliance program (closed) in collaboration with UPF.

Casanovas has also taught Compliance courses at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina since 2020 and the Universidad Loyola Andalucía since 2020.

Furthermore, they have served as the Technical Director for the National and International Compliance Congresses at Thomson Reuters since 2015.

Prior to their compliance roles, Casanovas was a Professor in the Master of International Law program at ISDE, starting from 1998. Alain also taught in the Corporate Compliance Program at the Economist Innovative School from 2016.

Most recently, in 2021, they became the President of the Independent Advisory Board at ASCOM- Asociación Española de Compliance.

From 1983 to 1988, Alain Casanovas attended Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and earned a degree in Law.
