Ester Oliveras is an associate professor in Financial Economics and Accounting in the Department of Economics and Business at the UPF, and holds a PhD from the University of Central Lancashire (United Kingdom, 1999). In the same year, she joined UPF as a tenure-track researcher and obtained a permanent position in 2005. She has held academic stays at Linköping University (Sweden, 2000 and 2001), at Imperial College (United Kingdom , 2014), at the University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom, 2015) and New York University (United States, 2018).
His interests include financial and management accounting. More recently, and due to his involvement in teaching responsibilities, his research has expanded to investigate the field of innovation in university learning. He has published in accounting and education journals and has also contributed to several books. She is a regular contributor to El Periódico and the Ara newspaper.
He has extensive experience in coordinating teams, obtaining funding and implementing projects. It has received funding for many projects aimed at innovation in education and research. Likewise, he directs the ACME research group and has participated in the European Digipay4Growth and BanDit projects.
He promoted the Yunus Social Business Network, which he directed between 2015 and 2018. This network is an alliance of eight academic institutions based in Barcelona, which aims to evaluate the impact of the social enterprise program on the city (SBC) in Barcelona, an initiative of Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus, which is present in several cities around the world.
She has been a member of the Board of Governors of the College of Economists of Catalonia (CEC) and is president of the Commission for Equality and Diversity of the CEC. He directs the postgraduate course in Corporate Social Responsibility ESCI-UPF.
At the UPF, he has held various management positions. Since 2003, she has been coordinator of the accounting teaching area of the Department of Economics and Business, deputy director of the School of Business Studies (2005-2009), vice-dean of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (2009-2016), rector's delegate for Sustainability (2018-2022) and vice-rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability (2021-2023).
