Aileen Tan Shau Hwai

Aileen Tan Shau Hwai is an accomplished academic and leader in marine biology, currently serving as the Director of the Centre for Marine & Coastal Studies (CEMACS) at Universiti Sains Malaysia since January 2017. Aileen holds the position of Professor at the School of Biological Sciences at the same university since 2016 and has been the Executive Director of the Asia Pacific University-Community Engagement Network (APUCEN) since 2015. Aileen's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Biology and a Master of Science in Marine Biology, both obtained from Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology: Microbiology from University Kebangsaan Malaysia.
