Shahrel Azmin Sundi Suandi

Shahrel Azmin Suandi is an accomplished academic and engineer with extensive experience in higher education and research, currently serving as Dean and Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia since March 2006. Specializing in engineering courses, Shahrel supervises postgraduate research in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, with a focus on security in surveillance through object and motion tracking and recognition. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Professor at King Faisal University and Research Assistant at Kyushu Institute of Technology. Additionally, Shahrel has held engineering positions at several companies, including TPM Academy Sdn. Bhd. and Sony Video (M) Sdn. Bhd. Shahrel holds a Doctor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering from Kyushu Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from the same institution, alongside foundational studies at Universiti Malaya and Sekolah Alam Shah.
