Alexis Fischer, PhD, currently serves as a Water Quality Technical Specialist in the EutroPHIX division at SePRO Corporation, focusing on guiding stakeholders to manage water quality and implement restoration projects. Previously, as an Associate Scientist at NOAA, Alexis utilized machine learning to develop algorithms for identifying microalgae and implemented real-time monitoring technologies to provide early warnings about toxic algal blooms. In prior roles at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the University of California, Santa Cruz, Alexis demonstrated expertise in modeling toxic algal bloom dynamics and led numerous fieldwork operations.
