Laura Snider is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in science communication and journalism. Currently serving as the Manager of Science Communications at UCAR since April 2015, Laura focuses on public engagement and effectively conveying the innovative research conducted by the organization. Previous roles include Senior Science Writer at the University of Colorado Boulder, where Laura produced content on a wide range of scientific topics, and Contributing Editor at Climbing Magazine Inc, where writing centered on climbing culture and skills. Laura's journalism background includes serving as a Science/Environment Reporter at the Daily Camera, where coverage focused on the local scientific community and environmental issues. Additionally, Laura has held leadership and instructional roles with the National Outdoor Leadership School and Outward Bound, further complemented by a strong academic foundation with a Master's in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from Virginia Tech.
