Maria Vergel

Maria Vergel has extensive work experience at University Health. Maria started in 2007 as a Financial Analyst and worked in that role until 2009. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Director, Grants and Applied Research. Their responsibilities included overseeing regulations and contractual obligations with sponsors in grant-funded programs, developing tools and processes to reinforce program compliance, and establishing and tracking sponsored programs in UHS internal systems. In 2015, they were promoted to Sr. Director, Grants and Applied Research, where they continued to excel in their role.

Maria Vergel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, which they obtained from 1987 to 1992. Maria then pursued a Master's Degree in Finance, General from the same institution from 1992 to 1995. Later, Maria achieved a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance, General from The University of Texas at San Antonio, completing it from 2004 to 2007.
