Sherri L. Bishop

Chief Development Officer at University Hospitals

Sherri L. Bishop, Esq. joined UH as Chief Development Officer and Senior Vice President of Institutional Relations and Development in 2004. Raising more than $1.5 billion, Ms. Bishop led UH’s highly successful Discover the Difference campaign which concluded in May 2017. As Chief Development Officer, she oversees a team of 85 and the long-term strategic plan for significant growth of philanthropic revenue and all fundraising activities for the UH system.

Prior to UH, Ms. Bishop was Vice Chairman of Institutional Relations and Development at the Cleveland Clinic where she held positions of increasing responsibility for 13 years. Before that, Ms. Bishop was a business and health law attorney with McDonald Hopkins, and at Procter & Gamble was a nationally-ranked sales manager and a leader in their national Sales Management Training School.

Ms. Bishop earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1990 and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1982. She also attended University of Oxford in England for comparative legal studies in 1997. Ms. Bishop serves on the System’s Executive Committee, and oversees the Board of Development/Campaign Committee. Her awards and recognitions include: 2006 Northern Ohio Live Rainmaker, 2006 YWCA Women of Professional Excellence, 2011 James P. Conway Mentor of the Year, and Leadership Cleveland – Class of ‘08.

Sherri resides in Lakewood, Ohio with her husband. They have three adult children.
