Erin Sweeten

Erin Sweeten has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and positions. Erin is currently working as the Assistant Director of University Innovation Lab at the University Innovation Alliance (UIA), where they are responsible for leading the implementation of growth strategies, developing and curating content, maintaining the Lab website, and supporting community recruitment and engagement efforts. Prior to this role, they served as a Program Manager at UIA, managing the University Innovation Lab and creating tools and trainings to improve student success.

Before joining UIA, Erin worked at the ASU Center for Child Well-Being as a Program Manager, Senior Instructional Designer, and Technical Writer/Communicator. Erin also has extensive experience as a Writing Instructor at the Center for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University and as an Adjunct English Instructor at Maricopa Community Colleges. Erin was also a Project Coordinator at Maricopa Community Colleges, where they coordinated activities for a grant-funded project focused on improving recruitment and training in high-tech manufacturing careers.

Erin's experience in education and training extends further back, including roles such as a Creative Writing Instructor at Arizona State University and a Writing Specialist at the Center for Talented Youth. Erin also has experience outside of the education field, having worked as an Information Technology Consultant at Deloitte Consulting and as a Volunteer in the Peace Corps, where they taught English as a Foreign Language and led a library stocking project.

Erin Sweeten earned their BA in American Studies from Willamette University, where they attended from 1993 to 1997. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Arts in Writing Seminars at The Johns Hopkins University from 2002 to 2003.
