Kelley Hamilton

Kelley Hamilton is the Associate Head of School for External Relations at UNIVERSITY LIGGETT SCHOOL. Kelley has over 20 years of experience in fundraising, grantseeking, and community engagement.

Kelley began their career in 1998 at Detroit Public Television as the Sr. Vice President of Development. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all revenue and relationship development from individuals, foundations and corporations. Kelley coached and managed a staff of 12 to build a successful donor-centric annual fundraising campaign that made up over 60% of the station's annual operating budget. Kelley also coached and managed a staff of 3 to create and build funding for sustainable community projects and regional initiatives, including grantseeking and leadership giving programs.

In 2009, Kelley successfully raised $9 million from individual sources, meeting the station's goal for the fiscal year. Under their leadership, Detroit Public Television consistently met or exceeded their fundraising goals and targets year after year.

In 2010, Kelley left Detroit Public Television to take on the role of Associate Head of School for External Relations at UNIVERSITY LIGGETT SCHOOL. In this role, they are responsible for leading the school's efforts in fundraising, alumni relations, marketing, and communications. Kelley has been instrumental in helping UNIVERSITY LIGGETT SCHOOL grow its donor base and expand its reach in the community.

Kelley Hamilton has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing, Communication and Media Studies from Michigan State University.

Kelley Hamilton reports to Bart Bronk, Head of School. They work with Peggy Dettlinger - Assistant Head of School & Head of Lower School, Alan Parish - Assistant Head of School & Head of Lower School, and Brock Dunn - Assistant Head of School & Head of Lower School.
