Carol Norris-Smith

Carol Norris-Smith is Vice President, Marketing and Public Affairs, of Princeton Health. With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare marketing and public relations, Ms. Norris-Smith directs the comprehensive marketing program, which includes advertising, publications, the website, social media and call center, as well as media relations, strategic communications planning, community education and the Art for Healing Program. Ms. Norris-Smith played a key role in developing Princeton Health’ brand identity, establishing the Community Education & Outreach Program and all internal and external communication regarding the move to Princeton Health’ new acute care hospital.

Under her direction, Princeton Health’ marketing programs have received more than 60 national, regional and statewide awards, including a Silver Anvil Award and a Silver Anvil Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America. Community Education & Outreach has provided nearly 20,000 screenings, lectures and other programs since it was established 14 years ago. Ms. Norris-Smith has spoken at national marketing conferences, including the Forum for HealthCare Strategists and World Congress.

Ms. Norris-Smith was formerly Director of Public Relations at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. She directed all public relations activities of this 183-bed pediatric hospital and managed an aggressive media relations program that resulted in an average of 700 significant local, regional and national placements annually. Ms. Norris-Smith also supervised the hospital’s involvement in all special events.

Ms. Norris-Smith received her bachelor’s degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She completed the Temple in Rome Program and graduate course work in public relations writing and editing, marketing, and communications concepts.
