Derek Sargent

Derek Sargent is a seasoned software developer currently working at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since January 2022. Prior to this role, Derek held multiple positions at Daxko from April 2018 to January 2022, including API Services Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, and Customer Success Advocate. Derek's career started at Zarzaur & Schwartz, P.C. as an Accounting Clerk from March 2006 to June 2013, followed by various roles at Nadler & Associates and TekLinks, where responsibilities included EDI Specialist, Data Center Asset Manager, and Billing Specialist. Derek holds an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Programming from Jefferson State Community College, completed between 2014 and 2016, and graduated from Gardendale High School in 2005.
