Jason Byrd

Jason Byrd serves as the Assistant Dean of Historical Collections at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since January 2024. Prior to this role, Jason held the position of Director of Library Services at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith from January 2022 to November 2023. Between August 2017 and January 2022, Jason worked at Adelphi University as Associate Dean of Research and User Engagement and was also an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Instructional Services. Jason's earlier experience includes roles at George Mason University, where responsibilities included adjunct instruction and various leadership positions in information services and learning technologies, as well as serving as a liaison librarian for History and Political Science. Jason's academic background includes a Master of Library & Information Science and a Master’s in History from the University of Alabama, and currently pursues a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration at Arkansas State University.
