Fiona Cavanagh currently serves as the Executive Director for Curriculum Coordination and Implementation and Insights and Coordination at the Government of Alberta and has held various leadership roles, including Chief Of Staff for the Chief Medical Officer of Health and Director of Public Engagement and Public Opinion Research. Notably, Fiona was the inaugural staff member responsible for establishing a central government unit to enhance public and stakeholder engagement while managing public opinion research. Additionally, Fiona is a Member of the Board of Directors at Metro Cinema and serves as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Alberta, where instruction focuses on citizen engagement theories and practices. Previously, Fiona was the Executive Director of the Centre for Public Involvement, leading a research partnership aimed at promoting democratic participation. Fiona's educational background includes a Master's degree in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Rural Development from Augustana University.
