Kamar Thomas is a Fine Arts professional with extensive teaching experience and a background as a practicing artist. Currently serving as a Sessional Instructor at Yorkville University since April 2025, Kamar has held multiple academic roles, including Professor of Fine Arts Studio at Centennial College and Adjunct Professor positions at the University of Connecticut and Eastern Connecticut State University. Kamar has also contributed to the art education of younger students as a Visual Art Educator at Titchfield High School. In addition to teaching, Kamar is an accomplished painter, operating as a self-employed fine artist since 2010 and working with Susan Halper Fine Art Inc. since June 2012. Kamar holds an MFA in Painting, Drawing, and Conceptual Art from the University of Connecticut and a BA in Fine and Studio Arts from Wesleyan University.
