Gihan Wijelath

Gihan Wijelath is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science and Technology at the University of Alberta, where Gihan also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the course NUFS 100 - Introduction to Food Science and Technology. Previously, Gihan held multiple management positions in health and hygiene in the food industry, including Manager and Executive Health and Hygiene at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, and Hygiene Manager at Shangri-La Group, focusing on risk identification and corrective actions in food operations. Gihan's academic background includes roles as an Academic Subwarden and Lecturer at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, along with visiting lectureships at Uwa Wellassa University and Technical College, Kuliyapitiya. Gihan's educational qualifications consist of a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology, with earlier educational experiences at various institutions, including the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.
